On January 1st 2021, the Qiy Foundation appointed Ad van Loon as President of the organisation.

Since 2016 Ad has been the organisation’s General Counsel. His main mission will be to substantially grow the impact of the organisation so that it can make a real difference: “We want to facilitate new forms of data exchanges whereby individuals have more control over the use of their personal data and data controllers have more control over the use of their data by online platforms on which they depend.”

In his new role, Ad will promote the development of new building blocks based on the Qiy Trust Principles, in co-creation with data controllers. Several projects have already been scheduled. Ad will work closely together with Marcel van Galen, the founder and Chairman of the Qiy Foundation. He will be reaching out to organisations that are willing to join the foundation on its journey, but please feel free to contact him if you see a role for your organisation.
