The economy is increasingly dependent on trust in the digital world. We believe that it is important that we help to create the trust that will allow the digital economy to develop across the entire internet.
There is a need to work together to tackle the major problems that exist in the online world. Collaboration does not only mean developing joint technical solutions, but rather pre-competitive agreements on standards, rules & regulations and a governance model for the handling and exchange of data between consumers and businesses and between businesses themselves. Working together on viable services that provide convenience and benefits to consumers, but which are also in line with European values and standards, creating trust and thus a willingness to share data.
The current Internet offers us great convenience and advantages. There is also a downside: no one knows exactly what data were recorded by whom and why. Which of these data were shared with others for what purpose? And if people do not know what happens with their data, can there be privacy?
Natural persons should have control of their own personal data. Legal and practical certainty for natural persons, economic operators and public authorities should be enhanced.
All our services have been designed in such a way that they safeguard and promote data protection by design and by default, provide security by design and protect the private life of individuals.
